Duo UK expands gift-wrap range in time for Valentines Day 

Duo UK, has expanded its gift wrap range just in time for brands to add a little love to their customers' shopping experience this Valentine's Day. 

Traditionally manufacturers of polythene packaging, Duo UK now offers branded tissue paper, gift boxes, ribbon, paper bags, labels and stickers. 

With Brits expected to spend in excess of £1.5bn on Valentine's Day gifts alone and just under two thirds of UK adults feel professional gift wrapping makes goods seem 'extra special' the addition of gift wrapping services has the ability to significantly increase retailers sales. Research carried out by Duo UK revealed that gift wrapping and luxury packaging has a strong positive impact on the customer shopping experience and significant halo effects including improved perception of value for money, increased recommendation to friends and increased prosperity to make a repeat order.

Anthony Brimelow, Commercial Director at Duo UK, comments: "We have noticed a significant increase in enquiries from retailers searching for ways to enhance their customers experience with their brand. Gift wrapping is a cost effective and impactful addition to a brands experience and a growing area for us, particularly at certain times of the year- Valentine's being one of them. We were really keen to gain more insight into the influence gift wrapping has on a consumers purchasing decisions to help guide our client's choices and the results we've found are incredibly interesting.

"We found that luxury packaging positively affects both men and women's perception of a particular item and also influences customer behaviour patterns, which in turn leads to higher levels of profitability.

"We also found thatmen are far more likely to request professional gift wrapping when purchasing a gift for their wife or partner. On average men are willing to pay more than women, with the majority happy to spend around £2 for the gift wrap service. One in ten men are happy to spend upwards of £4.

We expect the demand for packaging accessories, such as gift wrap, to continue as more retailers are embracing this powerful marketing tool to reflect their brand's ethos and enhance opportunity for loyal customers. This year we will be increasing our range of packaging accessory products that brands can personalise and enhance their customers' experience even further. We predict that many brands will make luxury gift wrap an intrinsic and profitable part of the customer journey."
