    Night Shift Flexographic Print Operator

    Manchester

    Hours of work: Monday to Thursday

    Salary: Based on Experience

    We are searching for a flexographic print operator to join our print team at our manufacturing site in Manchester. The print department is the second stage in Duo’s manufacturing process and is where the customers design is printed on polythene film before being converted into a vast range of products from mailing bags to technical sheeting.

    Key Tasks:

    • Responsible to mount and set the printing plate and operate the flexographic print machines
    • Obtain the correct film specification and quantity before commencing a print run
    • Set the polythene film reel and carry out efficient job change overs ensuring machine downtime and scrap meets minimum targets
    • Dispense the volume of ink specified in the job sheet
    • Monitor the performance of the printing machine ensuring maximum output is achieved at all times
    • For each job you must perform and document all of the relevant quality control checks in line with the quality policy
    • Ensure that all finished goods are labelled correctly, stacked and wrapped safely and meet the company’s high presentation standards

    Previous printing and factory experience desirable.

    Blown Film Extrusion Operative

    Manchester

    Hours of work: 4 days on / 4 days off, 7:00pm to 7:00am

    Salary: Based on Experience

    Main Duties include:

    We are searching for a blown film extrusion operator to join our extrusion team at our manufacturing site in Manchester. The extrusion department is the first stage in Duo’s manufacturing process and is where the raw material is blended and extruded to form the polythene film for a vast range of applications from mailing bags to technical sheeting.

    We are looking for an enthusiastic individual that wants to work in a fast paced environment. Previous experience is essential and IT literacy is a must. Must have an FLT licence.

    The successful candidate will have good time management and organisation skills, works well under pressure and can prioritise effectively to meet time critical deadlines.

    Key Tasks:

    • Responsible to set and operate the extrusion machines to produce the film specification specified in the job sheet
    • Obtain the correct raw materials, cores, pallets, labels, wrapping and banding as specified on the job specification sheet and required to efficiently carry out the job.
    • Monitor the performance of the extrusion machine ensuring maximum output is achieved at all times
    • Weigh, record and bail all scrap polythene created for each job
    • Record the volume of scrap produced during the extrusion process for each job using the job sheet provided
    • For each job you must perform and document all of the relevant quality control checks in line with the quality policy

    Night Shift Machine Operative

    Manchester

    Hours of work: Monday to Thursday, 7:30pm - 7:30am

    Salary: Based on Experience

    We are searching for a conversion machine operator to join our conversion team at our manufacturing site in Manchester. As a Conversion operative your role will be to run various conversion machines to convert the polythene film into the final end packaging product for our customers who include some of the UK’s biggest online retailers. You will follow a job sheet and produce product to the correct specification, ensure that any non conforming products are removed and pack items ready for dispatch.

    Key Tasks:

    • Responsible to set the conversion machine to produce the packaging style specified on a job sheet
    • Understand and carry out the safe operating procedures specific for the machine you are operating
    • Operate the conversion machine to its optimum settings without compromising on safety or quality
    • Report any machine maintenance issues
    • Work as a team to assist in the conversion team targets and using teamwork to ensure targets and deadlines are achieved.
    • Ensure that all outbound packages are labelled correctly, stacked safely and meet the company’s high presentation standards

    Previous factory experience desirable
