We started out small: 17 employees, 3 extruders, 1 printer and 4 conversion machines, to be exact. But even then, our ambition was colossal. It’s all thanks to our people, and their unwavering determination to deliver forward-thinking packaging solutions that we are where we are now. It’s that same spirit we started out with years ago, that has taken us to the international business it is today.
We’re proud of our history. And if you want to make history with us, you’re in the right place. We could tell you what working at Duo is like. But we’d rather you heard it from our brilliant people themselves.
Meet the team

“I have worked in many other manufacturing companies that has specific departments that work in isolation but at Duo that’s not the case. It’s all about teamwork, people are supportive and help each other.
It’s a fast-paced environment and we’re all one team and that’s what I love. Nowhere is perfect but Duo really is a great place to work.”
“Duo is the first company where I still want to stay after being here over 5 years. I call them “my Duo family”. I feel very lucky to work here. I always get support when I need it and I never feel that I am alone with my problems. I will always be grateful to Duo for letting me progress in my career.
I always looking forward to Duo’s social events. You get to know people better and meet new ones too. I can’t wait until the next one!”
“My favourite thing about working at Duo has to be the people I work for and with. I am pleased to call many of them my friends.”
“I moved from Newcastle to Manchester to study a professional accounting qualification and was looking for a job where I could put that into practice and continue to develop further. I worked for a large corporate company, but it lacked personality. I came for a couple of interviews at Duo and really liked the friendly vibe – and hey presto, I’m still here nearly 6 years later.”
“As a Conversion Operative I am responsible for maintaining the machines and packing our customers mailing bags. If a problem presents itself, I’m empowered to solve it and I know that everyone is always willing to help. Duo has a good atmosphere and is a great environment to work in. Everyday there is the opportunity to learn something new.”
“From starting here doing work experience with no clue what I wanted to do in my career to now being in a place where I am in a role which I truly love, is something I feel lucky to have achieved.
When I have asked to try something new or develop my career I have felt really supported in my choices and Duo have always found a way to help give me the opportunity to develop. Duo has helped me grow in confidence and grow as a person, everyday I smile and its because of the people I am surrounded by.”
Extrusion Work Experience
“Having heard that there were vacancies in Duo’s extrusion department, I escaped from home to go and see what it is all about. I completed a night shift and thoroughly enjoyed my work experience. The team are kind, caring people and the environment is buzzing. I had to return home but I highly recommend a job in Duo’s extrusion department.”
“I’ve been here since the very early days. I was in fact approached by the founders of Duo as they purchased their first conversion machine, as I was an experienced operator. I’m proud to work for a company that is trying to address the misconceptions about plastic and addresses the environmental issues by promoting reusable, recyclable and sustainable products. The company has always and continues to invest in new machinery. As if learning full circle, I’m currently training on the company’s latest purchase a brand new conversion machine.”
Our company has always been innovative, especially where our employees’ futures are concerned. We’ve invested £700k in our Manchester manufacturing facility to support the continued growth, and this follows a £1.85million investment in new equipment and facilities in 2020. And because our ambition stretches across the world global, we’re also recruiting for new roles across the business to help support our international presence and growing sales across the world. After all, our future is your future. Let’s make it bright together.
